Tulsa, Okla., October 29, 2007 - Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group, Inc. (NYSE: DTG) announced today that Rick Morris has joined the company as Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer.
He will be responsible for providing the vision and leadership for developing and implementing information technology initiatives that improve cost-effectiveness, service quality and business development in a constantly changing, competitive marketplace. He will lead Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group in planning and implementing enterprise information systems to support operations and achieve more cost-beneficial enterprise-wide IT operations.
Morris has more than 20 years in the information technology arena, most recently for Capital One Financial Corporation - one of the top 10 banks in the U.S. - as Chief Information Officer of one of the company's major divisions. From 1995 to 2002, he worked for UMB Bank in the areas of electronic banking applications and data security, e-business systems and other technology-related disciplines. Morris started his career at Payless Cashways as a programmer and applications development manager at the $2 billion home improvement retailer.
He received his B.S. in Computer Information Systems from the University of Missouri in Kansas City, where he completed his M.B.A. in 1996.
