While on the road for business, you're likely to be driving on unfamiliar routes marked by street signs, which can be difficult to read even in the best conditions. Optimum eyesight is a must when you're driving rental cars for business travel. Premium eye health is important for drivers of all ages, but business travelers who are over the age of 65 are especially likely to make judgement errors regarding their eyesight when driving.

“While age alone does not determine a person's ability to drive safely, older drivers often suffer debilitating conditions that over time can place them in an at-risk status,” said a piece for the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles.

In addition to wearing your current prescription glasses or contacts, there are many ways to protect your eyesight while driving.

Although it can be a hassle, business travelers of all ages need to schedule a checkup with an optometrist each year, in order to ensure that eyeglass prescriptions are up-to-date.
