How to speed through airport security

For many road warriors, the most stressful part of business travel isn't preparing an important presentation or trying to impress clients, it's maneuvering through airport security. While it may seem like that never-ending line of travelers is forever doomed to throw a wrench in your plans, this is not necessarily the case. To speed through airport security, give these tips a try:

1. Join PreCheck
The Transportation Security Administration's (TSA) PreCheck program allows eligible fliers on participating airlines to head straight to the express line when they reach the airport security checkpoint. Frequent flyers can register on TSA's website, and may not even have to remove their shoes as they make their way through security.

2. Be observant
The shortest line at airport security isn't necessarily the fastest! As you're waiting to have your driver's license or passport checked, observe the security agent manning each line and try to determine which one is moving the most quickly and efficiently. That's the line you should join.

3. Be prepared
To further speed up the security process, make sure you obey TSA's 3-1-1 rule and have your bag of liquids already separated. Take your coat off and keep your laptop and other electronic devices outside of your bag so you'll be able to quickly walk through the body scanners.
