Even if you're a frequent traveler that has your routine down to a science, let's face it: business travel can be stressful. Sprinting to catch a flight, consuming fast food and working non-stop can all contribute to a stress overload. When you arrive at your destination, hop in your airport car rental and remember these tips for reducing stress as you embark on your business trip:

On a long trip, skip the hotel
If you plan on being in a city for more than a week, consider renting a vacation home or apartment instead of a hotel room. According to The Huffington Post, if you speak directly with the owner it may be possible to pay the same price as a hotel room for nicer, more spacious accommodations.

Be prepared for the unexpected
Business trips don't always go as planned. If you enter the trip with a positive mindset and prepare for the unexpected, you'll reduce your stress load. Flight delayed? Catch up on your reading or treat yourself to a massage.

Practice healthy habits
Eating well, staying hydrated and making time for exercise will all help you reduce stress. Be sure to eat plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables and make time for a quick workout before you begin your long day of meetings.
