Q - Do all of the reported rentals on the Look To Book website qualify for promotions?

A - No. Look To Book will list all rentals made under your V number regardless of transaction date whether it is prior, during or after the promotional period. The date shown on the Look To Book site is the date the transaction was submitted to them for posting. Regardless of what is shown on the site, any transactions that fall within the promotional period will be counted towards your incentive goals.

Q - What is Look To Book?

A - Look To Book is the industry's premier on-line travel consultant program.

Q - How can a travel agent learn more about Look To Book?

A - Complete Look To Book Terms and Conditions may be found on the information pages of each GDS:

Q - How do travel agents enroll in Look To Book?

A - Travel agents may enroll in the program at the end of a Radisson (RD), Country Inns (CX) or Park Plaza and Park Inn (PD) reservation by typing their first initial and last name in the Supplementary Information (SI) field. For example, an individual named Mary Smith would enter: SI-RD-MSMITH.

Or, if you have access to the worldwide web you can also become a member by logging onto www.looktobook.com and click on the “Enroll Today” page. Once you have provided the requested information you will be directed to your agent profile, which includes your account number.

Q - How are Look To Book points earned?

A - Once enrolled, members will earn points each time they make a Thrifty Car Rental reservation through a GDS.

Enrolled members will also automatically earn points each time a reservation is made through a GDS and consummated at one of the following properties:

• Radisson Hotels & Resorts (chain code RD)
• County Inns & Suites  (chain code CX)
• Park Plaza and Park Inn (chain code PD – U.S. and Canada properties only)

Q - How many points may be earned?

A - Travel agents earn five points per U.S. dollar booked on Thrifty Car Rental bookings that are consummated.

Q - How soon do travel agents receive their points?

A - Points for car rental bookings are classified as “pending points” until the rental is consummated. One a weekly basis, Thrifty will forward the “spendable points” information to the Radisson Reservation System for input into the Look To Book account.

Q - Are travel agents allowed to pool their points?

A - Participation in the Look To Book program is by individual account only. Pooling of points or agency accounts is against program rules and may result in the loss of points.

When the Look To Book program initially started, travel agencies were given the option of creating agency accounts rather than allowing the travel agents to participate individually. A small number of agency accounts remain in the system, but we encourage those accounts to change to allow individual participation, and the creation of new agency accounts is not allowed.

Q - Are Look To Book points transferable?

A - Points accrued by an individual member are not transferable under any circumstances. Travel agents may contact the Look To Book Help Desk at 800-333-5600, Option 4, with any questions regarding transferring points.

Q - Why do some travel agents have more than one account number?

A - They may have misspelled their name or put in extra information in the SI field, such as a room preference or billing code. They may also have booked under a different ARC/IATA number. All of these reasons will automatically assign the travel agent a new account number.  It is a best practice to ALWAYS use your V number rather than your name as they entry for name could vary from time to time (i.e. typos, changing format, etc.).

We encourage travel agents to merge their accounts to ensure they have access to all of their points. They may contact the Look To Book Help Desk at 800-333-5600, Option 4, or fax a completed Merge Request Form to 402-498-8208.

Q - What should I do if I move offices?

A - Agents participating in any promotion should always use their Look To Book Account number (V#) when booking. Agents booking under more than one ARC/IATA number on a regular basis should use their V# to book all the time. If you do not use your V# when booking Thrifty your account will not be awarded points and consumer rentals will not qualify for additional incentives.

Q - How can travel agents change their name on the account?

A - A copy of the document that shows the name change must be faxed to 402-498-8208. Travel agents may call the Look To Book Help Desk at 800-333-5600, Option 4, if they have any questions regarding changing the name on their account. Travel agent must also notify Thrifty at 1-800-822-8257 of any name or agency change.

Q - How may travel agents check their point balance?

A - Travel agents in the U.S. and Canada may contact Look To Book at 800-333-5600, Option 1, and enter their account number for automated pending and spendable point balances. Members who do not know their account number may call the Look To Book Help Desk at 800-333-5600, Option 4, and speak with a Look To Book team member. International agents can contact Look To Book by going to their website.

Q - How may travel agents check their car rental point balance?

A - Travel agents may go to  www.LookToBook.com to receive their pending balance. Spendable car rental point balances will be included in the spendable point balance received by contacting Look To Book at 800-333-5600, Option 1, and entering the account number, or by calling 800-333-5600, Option 4, and speaking with a Look To Book team member.;

Q - What security measures are in place?

A - Travel agents are requested to provide a Social Security Number (U.S) or Social Insurance Number (Canada) for security purposes. The travel agent must confirm that number before account information is shared.

Some travel agents refuse to provide a Social Security Number or Social Insurance Number over the phone, citing privacy concerns. In those cases, we request only the last four characters of the SSN or SIN as a means of identification.

Q - How are points redeemed?

A - Travel agents in the U.S. and Canada may call the Look To Book Redemption Center at 800-333-5600, Option 2. Members outside the U.S. and Canada may check the Radisson CRS/GDS Information Pages or www.looktobook.com for catalog availability for their country.

Q - How do travel agents order a catalog?

A - They simply call the Look To Book Redemption Center at 800-333-5600, Option 2, and a catalog will be sent to the address on their account.

Q - Are awards subject to taxes?

A - Awards are subject to taxes in both the U.S. and Canada. The member will receive a 1099 form in the U.S and a T4A in Canada.
