TULSA, Okla. - Thrifty Car Rental, a subsidiary of Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group, Inc. (NYSE: DTG), announced today the launch of a new sweepstakes on www.THRIFTY.com.
Beginning March 1 and continuing through May 31, 2003, the company will give away 92 daily prizes of a free weeks rental in the U.S. and three monthly grand prizes of a Segway Human Transporter (HT). The three grand prizes include orientation at Segway's production facility in Bedford, N.H., round trip airfare, car rental and hotel accommodations.
The Segway HT has attracted a lot of media attention since its principal inventor Dean Kamen publicly introduced the personal transportation device in December 2001.
The Segway HT is a self-balancing, electric transportation device that uses what the company describes as Dynamic Stabilization to keep the rider upright and balanced at all times. More information about Segway is available at www.segway.com.
No purchase is required to enter the sweepstakes, but winners must be at least 21, a U.S. resident, have a valid U.S. driver's license, and able to meet certain car rental requirements. Winners of the 92 daily prizes will be randomly drawn from among all entries received by 5 p.m. CST that day. Each daily winner will receive one free week of car rental in the U.S., including economy, compact, mid-size, full size or minivan. All taxes, fuel, optional insurance coverage and any other incidental charges are the sole responsibility of the winner. Winner must possess a credit card in their own name. The three grand prize winners will be chosen at random on or about March 31, April 30 and May 31, 2003. Entries are limited to one per person.
