Top excursions for your Arkansas vacation

Known as The Natural State, there's something carefree and relaxing about traveling in Arkansas. If you're taking in the sights or exploring nature, you can really let your troubles fall by the wayside once you land at Little Rock National Airport or Bentonville - Northwest Arkansas Regional Airport. There are many sites throughout the state that evoke a lot of national pride and feature some excellent excursions for shopping, dining and traversing the great outdoors. Be sure to hit the road in your Thrifty car rental to check out some of these awesome Arkansas attractions:

Bentonville

This small town is home to the international headquarters for Wal-Mart, which started as a five-and-dime by the Walton family in 1950 with just 4,000 square feet. Today, it is one of the largest companies in the world, and you can explore all of this major corporation's history and impact on the city at the Walmart Museum in the Bentonville Town Square. To keep up with the company's reputation for low prices, entry to the museum is free of charge.

Little Rock

If you are landing at Little Rock International Airport, the one neighborhood you must visit is the River Market District, which is heart of the city's live music scene. A number of bands perform at The First Security Amphitheater  while touring the U.S. The Farmers Market and River Market restaurants are also the best places in town to grab a bite to eat.

For a one-of-a-kind experience, don't miss the Clinton Presidential Center, which highlights major accomplishments and archives from the 42th president, Bill Clinton. The center also features an on-site restaurant, an educational and a cultural space, as well as permanent and temporary exhibits highlighting the campaigns, policy alcoves, life at the White House (including a full-size replica of the Oval Office) and Clinton's two terms as president.
