Views from the Windy City

If you want to visit somewhere with loyal fans, this is the place for you. The whole city recognizes and celebrates Chicago Bears and Blackhawks games with jerseys and hats, even the lion statues outside of the Art Institute of Chicago and the dinosaurs outside of the Field Museum don winter gear supporting their favorite teams. Put on your favorite team gear and drive your Chicago rental car to these impressive Chicago locations.

Soldier Field

Cubs and White Sox fans unite here in cheering on the city's only NFL team, the Chicago Bears. Since it's opening in 1924, this stadium has housed concerts, festivals, sporting events and even a dinner for two on one occasion. True to its name, the stadium is chock-full of military tributes. From the bronze "The Spirit of the American Doughboy" statue that honors World War I infantrymen going through No Man's Land at the south end of the field to the Veteran's Memorial, paying tribute to military members and their families at the opposite end of the stadium. If you enter this facility from the north, you will pass the 280-foot long green granite waterfall that sports eight medallions honoring the branches of the armed services. Come catch a game, and maybe a football, or take a tour to see the ins and outs of this stadium.

Navy Pier Park

You've probably seen the iconic Ferris wheel in pictures and videos of Chicago. This is your chance to get an incredible view of the skyline by riding the Navy Pier Ferris wheel. It may sound corny but it really is a beautiful ride. That's not the only ride on the pier. Hit the swings on the Wave Swinger, slow it down with the Carousel, bounce higher and higher on the Light Tower Ride, and play 18 holes of mini golf. Those early holes start out easy but the 18th will make or break your score! Couples and families alike will enjoy this fun amusement park with a gorgeous view of the Windy City.

360 Chicago

For a spectacular view of 55 miles and four states, take the elevator 94 floors to this observation deck, once known as the John Hancock Observatory. The floors below that house businesses from all around the globe, and you'll feel on top of the world when you drive your Chicago rental car to this exhilarating destination. If it's not high enough for you to get a little bit scared, try the Tilt attraction, an enclosed platform that comes out from the building at a 30-degree angle. Just enough to scare you silly! You'll see why it was voted one of the best views in America by Travel & Leisure magazine.
