Don't miss out in Denver

Denver is the home of Louis Ballast, owner of the Humpty Dumpty Barrel Drive-In and the first individual to officially trademark the cheeseburger. Not only does this mountainous city offer delicious food and beautiful views, it is a place for craft brews, good music and interesting people. Head to these sights to get a feel for Denver:

Folsom Field

Drive your Denver rental car to 2400 Colorado Ave to get an incredible view of the Rocky Mountains and the Colorado University Buffalos football team. This facility opened in 1924 and can hold a total of 53,613 fans. The team's all-time record at home is .650, leaving fans with a pretty good chance of catching a winning game. When the sun sets and the field lights come on, just about any spot in these stands will give you a gorgeous look at the setting sun as it descends behind the mountains. The field is entirely outside, so be prepared to stay through any weather. The stadium is 5,440 feet above sea level, one of the highest in the nation in terms of elevation. When you get hungry, be sure to grab pizza, a Ralphie Dog or an Illegal Pete's burrito. There are also Pepsi products, lemonade, iced tea, coffee and smoothies offered throughout the facility. Supposedly the best seats in the house are found on the southwest end zone where you are near the student population but out of the sun.

Denver Museum of Nature & Science

Head to 2001 Colorado Boulevard to check out the Denver Museum of Nature & Science. Here you'll find stunning exhibits on many interesting topics like aliens, rodents and the Silk Road. Check out the Mythic Creatures exhibit if you want to learn about unicorns, dragons, mermaids and Bigfoot. The Discovery Zone is full of hands-on fun for younger kids like climbing a life-size dinosaur and learning about fossils. You can also explore exhibits about space, minerals and gems, the human body and prehistoric animals. There are also traveling exhibits that are temporarily stationed at the museum, such as "The Power of Poison" and "The International Exhibition of Sherlock Holmes." Check the schedule to see what interesting new options will be in town when you plan to visit!
