"Show Me" Missouri

Visit this state that ties with Tennessee for having the most neighbors: Missouri! You can reach eight states through Missouri! You'll be glad you drove your St. Louis rental car to cheer for the Tigers and do some exploring in caves and over bridges at these attractions:

Memorial Stadium/Faurot Field

This Missouri stadium has hosted the Mizzou Tigers since its opening in 1926. The stadium is undergoing an expansion in 2014 in order to better host the fans and teams that flock to watch and play the Tigers. The largest crowd ever, during a game against Penn State, was 75,298 people in 1980. The expansion will include an addition of a tower on the east side as well as adding more than 1,600 seats, and more restrooms and concession areas. Visit the northern end zone to see the "M" block, carved by the freshman class of 1927. The "M" was changed to an "N" one night in 1957 before a Missouri-Nebraska game but the Mizzou grounds keeper got the help of several boys and returned the block to its original lettering before the game. Don your black and gold, and cheer on the Tigers at this Missouri stadium.

Rock Bridge Memorial State Park

Drive your St. Louis rental car to this state park, just outside of Columbia, where your family will enjoy the outdoors by hiking, biking and even spelunking. The topography in this park is called "karst," which means it is covered by caves, underground streams and springs and sinkholes. The rock bridge that the park is named after was formed when the cave system it was a part of collapsed. Make a reservation ahead of time and you can take a guided tour on the Devil's Icebox Boardwalk over the bridge to view the sinkhole the trail is named after, where you'll see an underground stream. Check out Connor's cave, further downstream for an adventure on your own. Visitors can picnic, try out their compass and map skills on the orienteering course, hike, bike and more all at this Missouri park. Come prepared for the weather and you will have a blast.

LazerForce Lazer Tag Zone

This fun location isn't hard to spot. You'll know you're here when you see the giant UFO on the roof. If your kids (or you!) like first-person shooter games, this is sure to be a real treat. Don vests and grab the special glowing guns and head off into the darkness in a game of laser tag. When you're tired out from all that running and shooting head outside of the laser tag course to play some air hockey and arcade games. Each game of tag is less than $10, as are all arcade games. Talk about fun that won't break the budget!
