Business travel can take car rental customers all over the place. In the summertime, some of the best cities in the country come alive with fun activities. Here are three places to check out on your summer travels:
Don't let the pictures of the snow and ice in the winter fool you. Chicago's weather can be tricky, but being in the Windy City during the summer can be a relaxing experience. After work is done, drive your rental car to various neighborhood festivals, explore big events like the Taste of Chicago or relax on the shores of Lake Michigan at the city's beaches.
If business forces an extended stay in the city over the summer months, long-term car rental in Denver wouldn't be the worst place to be. Once the snow melts, the city awakens with activity, with festivals and outdoor events. Even up in the mountains, the city's average temperature in July and August is in the 70s.
Travel and Leisure Magazine named Portland as America's best summer city, and it's easy to see why. Business travelers will enjoy happy hour, thanks to the city's large collection of microbreweries. There is fresh and delicious food to go along with it, available at Portland's famous farmers markets.
