Driving tips for the winter months

If you're traveling during the winter, you'll want to know how to handle rental cars for business trips properly. Whether or not you're familiar with driving in snowy conditions, it's good to keep safety tips in mind.

Icy and snowy roadways
When snow or freezing rain hits it can make for some of the most dangerous driving conditions out there. Be sure that you decrease the speed you are traveling at and leave plenty of room between you and the car you are following. When you do tap the brakes, do so gently to avoid spinning out. If you have a long-term car rental, you may need to fill the antifreeze at some point. This will keep your front and rear windows clear for better visibility.

Safety on the roads
If you are traveling across time zones for business travel, then you might be struggling with jet lag. It's never a good idea to drive if you are tired, but this is even more of an issue if driving conditions are poor. Make sure that you rest up before driving and stop if you feel drowsy. As always, be sure to buckle up and keep both hands on the wheel.
