If you are lucky enough to be sent to Hawaii for business travel, you will want to make sure you are taking advantage of all that this island paradise has to offer. Veer away from mainstream attractions and check out some of these hidden gems:
1. Redwood Trail
During the 1920s, a plethora of redwood trees were planted in the Hawaiian Islands. The state's warm climate, combined with cool mists and elevations, made a thriving environment for these plants. Though they are not nearly as tall as their Californian counterparts, they have grown to impressive heights. Visit Maui's Polipoli Spring State Recreation Area to explore their natural beauty.
2. The Wallaby Colony
Chances are you have never heard of this unique attraction - but if you are an animal lover, it is an essential destination. After one male and one female wallaby escaped from a zoo in 1916, they started reproducing in the wilderness of Kalihi. Though there is no guarantee you will see one of these adorable creatures, head down to the region's valley and do your best to spot a product of this natural phenomenon.
