Odds are you'll be carting along your laptop during business travel. But have you given much thought as to what is the best computer to pack in your carry-on? There are a few things you might want to consider before packing your expensive personal electronic device with you.
Weight and size
Through security and in rental cars, you'll have your laptop with you during most of your trip. You may want to opt for a lightweight model that won't slow you down as you rush through the airport terminal to make your flight. Try to find a version that weighs 3 pounds or less. Although this will affect the size you purchase, you don't need a huge monitor when sitting in your seat on the airplane - think about how little space you already have. Instead, go no larger than 13 inches for the screen.
Quality and price
If you're accustomed to using high-functioning computers in the workplace, it might be difficult to adjust to one with less capabilities. You want to make sure that your device is able to run any necessary programs, but you don't have to go all out. Keep in mind that this computer could be easily stolen or damaged during your business travels, so you don't want to spend a ton of money on it.
