Find a treasure in Arizona's Antique Capital in your Glendale Rental Car

Just nine miles northwest of downtown Phoenix lies the city of Glendale.

Westgate Entertainment District
Drive your Thrifty rental car just minutes from downtown Glendale to find the entertainment district — offering you a vibrant outdoor setting, complete with lavish water features, interactive shopping, dining and entertainment experiences. Next door is the Gila River Arena, home of the Arizona Coyotes. Nearby is the University of Phoenix Stadium, home to the Arizona Cardinals. Located at 6751 North Sunset Blvd, the Westgate Entertainment District is a perfect place to relax after a long drive. Just minutes from Downtown Historic Glendale, the district is just East of the Loop 101.

Thunderbird Conservation Park
If you’re in the mood to experience a little piece of history, drive your Glendale rental car over to Thunderbird Conservation Park, a 1,185-acre park in the Hedgpeth Hills, dedicated to preserving the desert environment of Glendale. Originally named for Robert Hedgpeth, an early homesteader in the area, the park was acquired in 1951 through a lease with the federal government. Thanks to the assistance of the Glendale Women’s Club and Glendale Rotary Club, the park has seen many improvements over the years. Activities you can enjoy here include picnicking, hiking, horseback riding, mountain biking, jogging and bird watching. Bring your running shoes and take off on 15 miles of multi-use trails.

Sahuaro Ranch Park
Located at 9802 North 59th Avenue, Suhuaro Ranch Park was founded in 1886 by William Henry Bartlett, a native of Illinois. The beauty of the ranch is augmented by the plentiful orchards, vineyards and fields of alfalfa. All of the historical structures have been restored, so if you’re a history buff, you’ll love this scenic and peaceful getaway from the bustle of the city. Sahuaro Ranch Park is open 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. all week long. On March 7, 1980 Sahuaro Ranch was listed in the National Register of Historical Places. Stop by in your Thrifty rental car for a recreational and historic experience. Children can play on the playgrounds, view chickens and peacocks, or play ball games.
