Rev the Engine in Your Thrifty Rental Car

The city of Lake Elsinore is located in western Riverside County, California. It sits on the shores of Lake Elsinore, a natural freshwater lake about 3,000 acres in size. The city is home to the Elsinore Grand Prix, Lake Elsinore Marina & RV Resort and the Box Spring Mountain Reserve. Take your Thrifty rental car on an adventure to see all the city has to offer.

Elsinore Grand Prix
If you love dirt bike racing, drive your Elsinore rental car over to the Elsinore Grand Prix. This dirt bike race takes place in and around the Lake Elsinore area and is an annual event typically held in mid November. The event originally gained popularity back in the late 1960s and early 1970s, when the likes of dirt bike greats Malcolm Smith and Steve McQueen were drawn to the event. Traditionally, the race has allowed anyone to ride. In 1971, the documentary movie On Any Sunday by Bruce Brown included scenes from the grand prix. In 1973, Honda named its CR250M Elsinore — the first motorcycle designed by Honda for the dirt rather than a modified street bike — after the Elsinore GP race venue.

Lake Elsinore Marina & RV Resort
For a vacation that’s sure to please, drive your Elsinore rental car to the Lake Elsinore Marina & RV Resort. This is the vacation destination for many area residents in sunny Southern California. The most prominent feature of the park is a large white “M” on the southern slope facing Moreno Valley and the golden “C” that sits on the western slope above UC Riverside. On just a little over 1,100 acres, equestrian riders, bikers, hikers and their pets can explore 15 miles of trails.
