HistoryThe Walmart Visitor Center
Just a short drive from the Bentonville Northwest Arkansas Regional Airport is the Walmart Visitor Center. Take a step back in time to 1950s small-town America as you sample classic candy, period music and more at an original dime store. Located in the Terry Block Building at 105 North Main Street, The Walmart Museum is a recreation of the original Walton’s 5&10. Exhibits include a gallery featuring interactive memorabilia such Sam Walton’s Medal of Freedom and his original office. The museum houses artifacts like Mr. Sam’s iconic 1979 Ford F150 pickup truck. Enjoy the Spark Café Soda Fountain, which offers ice cream treats in a 50s style atmosphere.

Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art

Take a walk through the history of Native American culture as you drive your Northwest Arkansas rental car through Bentonville. The museum invites you to "Walk Through America's Past," where visitors are given a look into what life was like for the first inhabitants of America. Located at 202 SW 'O' Street, the museum is divided into five different time periods that offer a helpful guide through the constant changing lives of the Native Americans, as seen through original artifacts. With displays that feature relics over 14,000 years old, there’s definitely something here you haven’t seen before.
