Get Wet in an Edmonton Rental Car

Edmonton is the capital city of the Canadian province of Alberta, and is home to the Telus World of Science, World Waterpark and the Art Gallery of Alberta. Drive your Thrifty rental car to explore everything this city has to offer.

Telus World of Science
Located at 11211 142 St NW, the Telus World of Science is a great way to spend the day in Edmonton. A short drive over in your Edmonton rental car offers up a wide array of different exhibits to explore. For young children between the ages of two and eight, Discoveryland features four main areas: WaterWorks, the Construction Zone, Discovery Den and Potters Corner. Another featured gallery focuses on the environment, with interactive displays about hydrology, ecology and meteorology. The Health Gallery inspires visitors with an interactive carnival-style exhibition about the anatomy and physiology of the human body. For engineering fans, the Robotics Laboratory features The Lego Mindstorms Centre, a 45-minute guided program in which guests program pre-built robots to perform various tasks and missions.

World Waterpark
If you’re ready to make a big splash, drive your Thrifty rental car over to the West Edmonton Mall. This waterpark is the world's second-largest indoor water park after the Tropical Islands Resort in Germany. It can accommodate 5,000 guests and offers visitors the world's largest indoor wave pool with a capacity of 12.3 million liters. If you love heights, the park features the highest slides called Twister and Cyclone, which are both 25 meters high. Children will love the Blue Thunder wave pool. With six wave bays, this wave pool keeps visitors of all ages entertained all afternoon.

Art Gallery of Alberta
If you love art, the Art Gallery of Alberta is a must see in your Edmonton rental car. Founded in 1924, the Art Gallery of Alberta is the oldest cultural institution in Alberta, devoted to the exhibition and preservation of art and visual culture. The gallery, located in downtown Edmonton at 2 Sir Winston Churchill Sq., features a collection of well over 6,000 works of art. These include historical and contemporary paintings, sculptures, installation works and photographs by Canadian and international artists. The gallery recently underwent an $88 million renovation, almost doubling the exhibition space of the original building. The new space offers visitors a restaurant, gallery shop, 150-seat theater and dedicated gallery space for the AGA's permanent collection.
