Newport Beach Rental Cars

Take your Newport Beach rental car and relax by the seaside

The city is iconic for long stretches of boardwalks, bike routes, trails and many paths for lovers of the outdoors. Besides the natural beauty of Newport Beach, there are unlimited activities to pass the time with, including luxury shopping, spa treatments, championship golf, art walks, wine tastings, live entertainment and cultural venues. If you’re driving through in a Newport Beach rental car, be sure to stop in at some of these attractions, including the Balboa Bay Resort, Balboa Pier and the Lovell Beach House.

Balboa Bay Resort
For a peek at real luxury, drive your Thrifty rental car over to the Balboa Bay Resort. This family-oriented private club is situated on 15 acres of prime Newport Beach property. The resort features a 130-slip marina, private beach, waterfront pools, private restaurant, an expansive spa and fitness center and 145 apartments along Newport Beach Harbor. Balboa Bay Resort offers residents 14 meeting rooms and board rooms, as well as three pools. An additional private "Members Only" pool was installed in 2003 near the main beach. The crown jewel of this resort is a 17,000-square-foot spa and Fitness Center, located in the members’ clubhouse.

Balboa Pier
One of two piers located in the city of Newport Beach, the Balboa Pier is located on the Balboa Peninsula, offering visitors a popular fishing spot and resting place from the busy beach. Types of fish caught on the pier usually consist of mackerel and flounder. If you look closely, you can observe large populations of starfish that feed on the large colonies of mussels growing on the pilings. Low tide is the best time to view these starfish. It’s not uncommon to catch a starfish on your hook! A good place to grab a bite on the Pier is the famous Ruby's Diner restaurants. Though it was damaged during the El Nino storms of 1998, Balboa Pier has been reinforced with steel sheathing and braces to prevent further damage. Stop by in your Newport Beach rental car.

Lovell Beach House
For lovers of early American architecture, a stop by the Lovell Beach House in your Thrifty rental car is a must do. Located on the Balboa Peninsula in Newport Beach, the building is recognized as one of the most important works by architect Rudolf Schindler, second only to the Schindler House. A short walk from the beach, you’ll find the Lovell Beach House nested among a tightly packed neighborhood. The interior is arranged around a two-story living/dining room, with full height, curtain wall windows on the east and south side facing the ocean.
