Sun Devil Stadium
Arizona State athletes call this field home. Built in 1958, the Arizona Cardinals played 18 seasons here before moving on to the University of Phoenix Stadium. Grab a Phoenix rental car and head West to see this 12-story, 65,870-seat stadium that once hosted the Pope on his U.S. tour in 1987. Five former Sun Devils are in the National Football League Hall of Fame: Curley Culp, Mike Haynes, John Henry Johnson, Randall McDaniel, and Charley Taylor. Perhaps you'll cheer on a future inductee at a Sun Devils game!
If you are interested in Native American Indian art be sure to stop at this internationally recognized museum. The mission of founders Maie and Dwight Bartlett Heard is to educate visitors and help further understanding of the life and way of the indigenous peoples of America. The museum hosts around 44,000 objects in its collection, including paintings, sculptures, jewelry, prints, drawings and photography, and aims to restore them as well as to share them with the public. With its 12 exhibit galleries, an auditorium, a coffee shop, an outdoor amphitheater and more, this is the perfect space to host educational programs and festivals, like the Jacobson Gallery of Indian Art which draws a yearly crowd of almost 22,000 people.
Aguila Golf Course
Voted "Best Public Golf Course, West Side" by the Phoenix New Times, this 18-hole championship course is open daily, year-round. They're even open on holidays. Christmas golfing, anyone? Designed by Gary Panks, this beautiful course is located at the base of South Mountain and is approachable to golfers of all skill levels.
