While some imagine business travelers typing away on their laptops on flights, during air travel is a great time to get some rest before arriving at your destination. But sleeping on a plane can be a difficult task.

Bring a hat

A baseball cap is a handy tool for the airplane sleeper. You can pull it down over your eyes to block out light, and it provides a sense of privacy and security that can make you more comfortable about dozing off around strangers.

Use earplugs

Earplugs can help keep out the sound, which can be particularly useful if you're near a chatty passenger. If you forget yours, earbuds or headphones can help muffle the noise. If you're a really light sleeper, it may be wise to invest in noise-canceling headphones.

Don't be ashamed of the travel pillow

The travel pillow isn't the most attractive piece of equipment, but it's a life-saver when it comes to business travel. Use the bendable headrest on your seat to create a U-shape that snugly cradles the pillow - this can reduce jerking.
