Visit amusing and musical Ohio

Rethink what you've heard about Ohio being just another drab Midwestern state. Here you can visit one of the biggest amusement parks in the country, cheer on some frenzied football and fill your ears with orchestral melodies. Bet you didn't think you'd have this much fun in Ohio!

FirstEnergy Stadium

Cleveland Browns fans flock to this 73,200-seat stadium to grab a seat in the Dawg Pound, where the super fans sit. Join them and you might learn about the Cleveland Browns Legends. This special honor program spotlights people who have made great contributions to the Browns. Some Professional Football Hall of Fame members are included in the honorable list, as are other integral members of the team who have played at least five seasons, have made big contributions to their position and have been retired from pro football for five or more years at the time of their induction. Two men are chosen every year by a series of votes from team alumna and members of the sports media. Maybe you'll see a Legend in the making when you drive your Cleveland rental car to this NFL stadium.

Cedar Point

Those who think Ohio is dull have never visited Cedar Point. This huge park, opened in 1870, has been voted the No. 1 amusement park in the world by Amusement Today for 16 years straight and is the second oldest in the country. With over 150 rides and attractions, 16 roller coasters, water features and activities for children not old enough or big enough to ride the major rides, there is something exciting for every member of the family here. A popular new roller coaster, Top Thrill Dragster, sends riders screaming into the sky at 120 miles per hour. The entire ride lasts 17 scream-like-mad seconds. You'll be glad you drove your Cleveland rental car to this adrenaline-inducing park!

Severance Hall

John L. Severance and his wife, Elisabeth, pledged $1 million for the original construction of this facility, considered one of the most beautiful in the world by music-lovers. When Elisabeth died, her husband pledged even more to the building in her memory, hence it's name "Severance Hall." The building is a member of the Cleveland Landmarks Commission and the National Register of Historic Places. It's easy to see why. Get tickets to see the Cleveland Orchestra play here in their winter home. Shows are almost nightly and range from family concerts, complete with an interactive instrument "Petting-Zoo," to matinees and regular performances. Arriving half an hour early is recommended to allow time to park and find your seats. Come extra early and eat at the Severance Restaurant or pack a picnic to enjoy on the lawn outside. You're sure to have an evening of elegance when you visit this treasured performance space.
