Visit the Aloha Stadium

There are eight islands that make up Hawaii, the only place in the U.S. that grows coffee. The islands were formed by undersea volcanoes, and evidence of their lava-filled past is all around. Visit this water-locked state for incredible views of the ocean, a trot through the rainforest and a glimpse into native Hawaiian culture.

Aloha Stadium
This open-air stadium opened on Sept. 13, 1975 when the University of Hawaii played Texas A&I in front of 32,247 fans. Today, the facility seats 50,000 and is located just 12 miles away from the beautiful Waikiki beach and 2 miles from Honolulu International Airport. Drive your Honolulu rental car here to enjoy carnivals, auto shows, motocross, tractor pulls, football, mud races, baseball, boxing, soccer, festivals and more! The University of Hawaii Warriors football team calls this stadium home. It is the largest outdoor arena in the state, perfect for hosting the Aloha Stadium Swap Meet and Marketplace. This open-air market takes place on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays and is a great place to find eclectic art, local snacks, handmade items and more. The market is closed on days when the Warriors are playing a home game so be sure to check the schedule to see what fun event is happening when you visit.

Keana Farms
If you're looking for incredible views and an adrenaline rush, head here for a zipline tour. There are seven ziplines that go over a working commercial produce farm. The tour is about three hours, during which you will fly above the farm with views of the North Shore. Visitors ride the zip line side by side with a person of their choice to enjoy the glorious panoramic views that Hawaii has to offer. Attendees must be over age 7, in moderately good health and wearing close-toed shoes. Don't worry, there is no "hand braking" while on the zip lines, and guides are available at every step of the way to ensure that you are having a safe and unforgettable time. Wear comfortable clothing and be sure to have a strap for your camera as well as sunglasses, and you'll have an incredible time.

Happy Trails
If fast-paced ziplining isn't your thing, go for the on-land route and try horseback riding. Drive your Honolulu rental car to Happy Trails, located on a hilltop over Waimea Valley. You'll have breath-taking views of the North Shore as you trot along trails and through forests of Koa trees. It's a relaxing and tranquil ride, says Jeremy S. Buddemeier of Hawaii Army Weekly. Buddemeier interviewed the company's owners, Mark and Tammy Becker, who said that the horses can eat up to 20 pounds of food a day. That doesn't include salt blocks and extra nutrient-rich items necessary to fuel their hard-working bodies. The horses also find things to eat along the trail. If you bring them an apple they'd gobble it up. You may even end up riding Princess Leia, a brown and white horse, for the 1-2 hour ride. Talk about an out-of-this world experience! Don't forget to tell your horse, "Mahalo!" ("thank you!") for the incredible ride.
