Choose a ‘Theme’ in Your Orlando Rental Car

As the most visited city in America, Orlando’s tourist attractions make the Orlando International Airport (MCO) the thirteenth busiest airport in the United States. If you’re cruising through the city in your Orlando rental car, you might want to stop by Walt Disney World Resort, Universal Orlando Resort or SeaWorld. Walt Disney World Resort
Located approximately 21 miles southwest of downtown Orlando in Lake Buena Vista, Walt Disney World Resort is perhaps one of the best-known tourist destinations in the world. Known to most people as simply Disney World, this mega entertainment complex is just a short drive in your Thrifty rental car. It takes the lion share of Orlando’s yearly visitors, averaging over 52 million annually. Be prepared to stand in long lines during the summer, unless you’ve upgraded your ticket to a Fastpass (a good idea during the summer months). With 27 themed resort hotels, nine non-Disney hotels, four theme parks and two water parks, Disney World has enough distractions to keep you busy for weeks. Some of the most popular parks include the Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney's Hollywood Studios and Disney's Animal Kingdom.

Universal Orlando Resort
Just a quick drive from Walt Disney World in your Orlando rental car is another movie-themed mega park. Located at 6000 Universal Blvd., Universal Orlando Resort offers visitors two theme parks: Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure, as well as a night time entertainment complex (Universal CityWalk Orlando), and four Loews Hotels (Loews Portofino Bay Hotel, Hard Rock Hotel, Loews Royal Pacific Resort, Cabana Bay Beach Resort). All four hotels are within a close distance from the resort, and free water taxis or shuttle buses are available. One advantage to staying at these hotels is the free Express Pass access to the theme parks, allowing guests to bypass the standby line at participating attractions.

SeaWorld
For a full day of marine life-based adventure, head over to 7007 Sea World Dr. in your Thrifty rental car. SeaWorld Orlando hosts an estimated 5.1 million guests per year, so while not as popular as Disney World, it still offers quite a bit of excitement. Featured areas of the park include Sea of Shallows (showcasing shallow water sea animal exhibits), Sea of Legends (mysterious myths about the sea), Sea of Ice (themed around the Antarctic continent), Sea of Mystery (housing a shark underwater viewing area, along with a restaurant, theater and rides) and many more.
